Are you also looking for the missing piece?

Whenever you go to a certain website you can read on the front page: “.. a relentless pursuit of the missing piece.” Behind the sentence is the picture of a piece of a jigsaw puzzle.

I was so interested in the “relentless pursuit of the missing piece” that I  contacted the  site and asked, “What do you mean by that?”

So far I don’t have received an answer!

But I remember what  I read long ago on the wall of the home of an elderly Salvation Army couple. And this is now from memory: “Life is like a jigsaw puzzle with one piece missing.”

*****************

If you don’t know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour the centre of your life is surely missing!

Only today I read this on the notice board of a church here in town:

“Uninspired by Jesus? Bet you’ve never met him.”

DIRECTIONS

When I read the word DIRECTIONS on the brochure lying beside the chair on the carpet in our sitting room I was of course interested. Two other words written on the front page were also hard to miss, the words FREE and COLOURplus.

It was all about CURTAINS AUTUMN 2010. “We’ve got your style” and FREE drape making, 25% off selected venetian blinds and more!

If you need directions, instructions for doing up your house, go to COLOURPLUS and there you can get paint, wallpaper, curtains and blinds for your dwelling. All under one roof.

But directions are not only instructions for doing something, directions are also instructions for reaching a place.

I am quite a bit on the streets of our beautiful town Kaitaia. Not long ago a car stopped, and I was asked how to get to the East Coast. That happens in fact quite a bit that people are asking me for directions. Kaitaia must have a lot of visitors.

Instructions for reaching  a place are important.

Have you ever heard the saying: “All of us want to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die?” I have read something like that long ago and I have even quoted it to a group of people in a meeting.

The instructions for reaching heaven are in the Bible.

Quick a questions. Can you remember when you heard your last sermon on the subject “Heaven?”

D. L. Moody’s favourite sermon subject was “Heaven.” We should shout Hallelujah when we hear about heaven.

We find these words of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the Bible, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN!

All those who have died trusting Jesus will be in heaven. First Thessalonians 4:14
