TIME

TIME

“TEACH US TO USE WISELY ALL THE TIME WE HAVE.”

Psalm 90:12

“Some, I know, are struggling; their faith is weak, their winters are long, and it ought not to be so. I believe if we talked more about these things to each other it would be an immense help. There would be less doubting and more faith; less of the season of spiritual inertia, and more the activity of spring; holiness of heart, and so  God’s favour and blessing, quickening into life and fruitfulness all the best in us.”

GIVEAWAY

To be in to win a copy of Growing in Age and Wisdom tell us about an older person who has inspired you.

In the same WarCry I read also:

“That’s where you join the dots – you don’t just provide a service, you provide a mission opportunity as well.”

Meng Cheong, Chief Executive, HomeCare

One of my teachers at Bible College was a person who inspired me and he saw a mission opportunity everywhere!

One of the subjects taught at that College was PE, Personal Evangelism. He came to visit us while we were working with the United Maori Mission in  Kaikohe and he loved to talk to everybody, everywhere at any time about the LORD!

Maybe that’s the best way of putting it.

Do we know and understand?

“There is no drop of water in the ocean, not even in the deepest parts of the abyss, that does not know and respond to the mysterious forces that create the tide.”

Rachel Carson

What does it say in Isaiah 1:3?

“The ox knows his master, the donkey his owner’s manger, but Israel does not know , my people do not understand.”

Depression

Proverbs 18:14

“A man’s spirit sustains him in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?”

“Deep depression of spirit is the most grievous of all trials; nothing compares with it.”

C. H. Spurgeon

“baptist

magazine of the baptist churches of new zealand”

Get hold of Vol. 126 No. 3 April 2010 and read…….

I will mention only two articles:

1.  “Does NZ have a poor heritage of preaching?”

The article is written by S. Worsley, Senior Pastor of Petone Baptist Church and creator of the One Step Ahead Preaching resource.

I think every church should have the ONE STEP AHEAD PREACHING RESOURCE to help a muddler become an architect!

2. “The most mis-preached text in the Bible.”

The article is written by G. Wieland, Lecturer Carey Baptist College.

The text is Malachi 3:10
