Is Conversion the Work of the Free Will of Man?

Is conversion the work of the free will of man?

The Bible is called “The Book of  Books” and we cannot compare the Bible with any other book. The Bible is the Word of God.

But there are also other books of great value. One book I really cherish is the book “Morning and Evening” (Daily Readings) by Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

In the Daily Reading for today (Evening), September 9, he is explaining Ephesians 1:19,20 and he is asking the question:

“What shall we say of those who think that conversion is the work of the free will of individuals, and is due to improving one’s own disposition?

In the following sentence he gives the answer:

“When we can see the dead rise from the grave by their own power, then we can expect to see ungodly sinners of their own free will turning to Christ.”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PASTIME?

The “GAMBLEFREE DAY, 1 SEPT” has come and gone!

It is well known that beer, racing and rugby are the three favourite pastimes of New Zealanders.

What is YOUR favourite pastime?

New Zealand is a nation of gamblers – where there is rugby, racing and beer, there is gambling.

In the WARCRY , 27 August 2011, I am reading:

MONEY SPENT ON GAMBLING:

1986 = $221 million

2010 = $2 billion

Question:

How much money is lost daily to gambling in this country?

Answer:

$5.2 million.

My favourite pastime is reading, especially reading the Bible, the Word of the Living God.

Psalm 119:99 says: “I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes.”
