POWER TO GO!

Not long ago I read the biography of a man of God who always got up early in the morning with the birds to meet with God. His name was John Parschauer.

What is the secret of a Christian’s daily life?

IT IS THE QUIET TIME!

There are believers who fail to meet with the Lord regular every morning. P1230238

They soon grow cold and backslide.

There are also believers who guard the Quiet Time and persevere.

They grow steadily daily with the Lord.

What do plants require to grow? They need food, air, and sunshine.

I observe the peace lily in our living room. Most of the time the plant looks alright, but sometimes it does not. The plant needs regular attention.

What do our physical bodies require? They require food, sunshine and exercise.

What do our spiritual lives require? They need to be nourished. They need food every day. We need to meet with God every morning!

Hundreds of lives were changed through the ministry of John Parschauer. He founded Bible schools in Canada and in Germany and trusted the Lord to do miracles.

He had power to go. Do we have power to go?

GIFTS

Garrison Keillor says, “A book is a gift you can open again and again.”

P1190649 768x1024The Greek word for “a book” is “biblos”. The word “Bible” is derived from that word “biblos”.

The Bible is “The Book of Books”.

Alban Douglas says in his book ONE HUNDRED BIBLE LESSONS, “Next to the gift of Christ and the Holy Spirit, the Bible is the third greatest gift.”

Can I encourage you to open the BIBLE today!

When I opened my Bible this morning I read First John 3:1-24. The chapter starts with this Golden Nugget:

“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called childen of God!”

PASSION

In the WEC International publication called GO INTO I am reading (Summer: 2012/13):

“God is passionate about communities and culture … are you?”
