“When was the last time you had a financial health check?”

I am reading that on the last page of the NZ Baptist magazine. (May 2013)

Health checks are important. And don’t you think I am underestimating financial health checks. I am not, but I am more interested in spiritual health checks.

WHEN IT COMES TO A SPIRITUAL HEALTH CHECK, PLEASE ASK YOURSELF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

1. Do I believe that the BIBLE IS the word of God?

2. Am I born again?

3. Do I have assurance of salvation?

4. Do I read the BIBLE regularly? (Quiet Time)

5. Do I pray regularly? (Quiet Time)

6. Do I tell others about the Lord Jesus Christ?

7. Am I obedient to the commands of the BIBLE?

8. Do I meet regularly with other believers in the Lord Jesus Christ?

9. …

If I have  forgotten something that should be included, please let me know.

The Bible says that doom awaits those who don’t repent. There are 162 texts in the New Testament alone which speak of that fact.

DESCRIPTION OF HELL

1.  It is  a place of punishment.

INFERNO

Matthew 25:46 says, “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” (Authorized Version)

2.  It is a place of torment.

Luke 16:23 says, “And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.” (Authorized Version)

3. It is a place of fire.

Matthew 13:42 says, “And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” (Authorized Version)

Over 70 of the texts in the New Testament which speak of  the doom that awaits the impenitent are spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
