SUFFOCATING
In his book THE ROAD AHEAD Bill Gates calls his second chapter “The Beginning of the Information Age.”
Years ago I heard someone say the writing of books is like a flood. We read about the flood on the first pages of the Scriptures in Genesis chapter six.
The “‘Teacher'” says at the end of the book Ecclesiastes that there is no end to the writing of books. There is no end of writing books, but all the words of the books including heaven and earth will pass away, except the words of the Lord Jesus Christ. Please read the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:35.
I agree with Frank Allen who writes in the introduction to his book “that we run the risk of suffocation in a blizzard of information.”
Do you feel that you are suffocating “in a blizzard of information?” I do!
But I remember the following information:
“‘FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.'” – John 3:16
“‘WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM IS NOT CONDEMNED, BUT WHOEVER DOES NO BELIEVE STANDS CONDEMNED ALREADY …'” – John 3:18
That is actually the only information I really need. And that is also the only information you really need!
“Second-hand books …”
I am reading the following on a book mark:
“Second-hand books are wild books, homeless books; they have come together in vast flocks of variegated feather and have charm which the domesticated volumes of he library lack.”
– Virginia Woolf
Many second-hand books have found a home in my library and are a blessing.
Let me just mention one:

Signs! Signs!
“Unlocked cars contribute to the growing crime rate!” says a sign at the Public Toilets in Ahipara. The Warning continues: “Always lock your car securely. Take valuables with you as offenders are known to smash their way into vehicles. I saw that sign today.
Offenders smashed their way some years ago into the car of our visitors. We used to live in Kaikohe at that time.
“Beware of half truths; you may have the wrong half!” you can see sometimes on church signs.
When I saw the warning in Ahipara the church sign came to my mind.
Where does theft come from? The answer is: Theft comes out of the heart!
What else comes out of the heart?
Evil thoughts come out of the heart. Murder comes out of the heart. Adultery comes out of the heart. Sexual immorality comes out of the heart. False testimony comes out of the heart. Slander comes out of the heart.
How can I say that? How do I know that?
Because the Bible says so. Please read Matthew 15:19. And remember also that the Lord Jesus Christ says that.
Someone has said: “No love in your heart is a real heart problem.”

My FIRST Christmas Card
Today I received my first card for Christmas.
On the card it does not only say, “It’s our way of saying a big thank you to our customers just for being with us,” but also, “Thanks again for being with us.”
When I read that I was reminded of the promise in the Bible, where the Lord Jesus Christ says in Matthew 28:19,20:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The Christmas card is from the Team at Telecom.
