FOOLS and WISE MEN

“A fool TALKS, but a wise man SPEAKS,” I saw this afternoon written on the back of a small truck.

THIS IS WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT FOOLS:

Proverbs 14:3: “A fools TALK brings a rod on his back …”

Ephesians 5:4: “Nor should there be obscenity, foolish TALK or coarse joking …”

Proverbs 18:7: “A fools mouth is his undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul.”

THIS IS WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT WISE MEN AND WOMEN:

Proverbs 31:26: “She [The Wife of Noble Character] SPEAKS with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”

Proverbs 17:28: “Even a fool is thought wise, if he keeps silent, and discerning if he keeps his tongue.”

Proverbs 14:3: “A fools TALK brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect him.”

Proverbs 16:23: “A wise man’s heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction.”

Do I begin now to understand why some people are not so interested in “small TALK.” in “light conversation for social occasions?”

World Elder Abuse Awareness Week

World Elder Abuse Awareness Week JUNE 15 – 22 2014.

“Please talk to at least one person during this week about this hidden social tragedy.”

I am finding the encouragement in the June / July  2014 Age Concern Kaitaia + District news letter.

The Heart

The Heart

The hidden social tragedy is elder abuse.

“Eight times ever day, a referral about suspected elder abuse or neglect comes into Age concern offices in  New Zealand. This is but a small fraction of the number of cases where abuse is happening.”

Talking about elder abuse is a good starting point to talk about the real problem, our heart trouble.

Please read Mark 7:21-23!

There we read:

“FOR FROM WITHIN, OUT OF THE HEART OF MEN, PROCEED EVIL THOUGHTS, ADULTERIES, FORNICATION, MURDERS, …”
