“You know a day without sunshine is like night.”

But do you also know that a life without the LORD Jesus Christ is darkness?

In Ephesians 5:8 the Apostle is writing:

“FOR YOU WERE ONCE  DARKNESS, BUT NOW YOU ARE LIGHT IN THE LORD.”

The Psalmist says in Psalm 84:11

“For the LORD God is a sun …”

THE NATURAL MAN, THE MAN ‘IN SIN’.

Antagonism to God is innate within the natural man.

What happens when the law comes and addresses the natural man?

He is rebellious. He is asserting himself. His desire is to be autonomous. He is also self-satisfied. He is independent.

And the idea of law he cannot stand.

The natural man hates the idea that there is anyone to whom he must bow his knee, even God.
