You cannot have assurance of salvation, you cannot have certainty of your final glorification unless you realize that salvation is altogether of God.” – D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Quote
If this salvation depended at any point upon us, he, the Apostle could never have said that ‘there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus’, because if it were left to us at any point it would fail.” – D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones
CHRISTMAS SERVICE …
Worrying and Praying
“An ideal life is not worrying about the last second and not worrying about the next second,” says singer – actress Faye Wong.
In Philippians 4:6,7 we are told:
Don’t worry about anything;
instead,
pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, and
thank him for all he has done.”
SEASONS
Do you know what season it is?
Passing a pharmacy here in town this morning I read on a board: “‘Tis the season of Giving.”
An article in the paper which is delivered free to our home once week is called: “‘Tis the burglary season.”
The article “‘Tis the burglary season” begins like this:
“The silly season is taken seriously by police officers around the Far North.”
Not long ago I saw written “Jesus is the reason for the Season” on the window of a church building here in Kaitaia.
I hope you know that “Jesus is the reason for the season.”

the works of my hands,

THE WATCHMAN
I am reminded to make sure to do five things, before I head off on holiday this year in one of our papers (Northern News, December 17, 2014).
I know that it is the holiday season, but the headline in the same paper “”Tis the burglary season,” reminds me that it is also the burglary season.
And here are the five hings:
-
Hide and secure valuables
-
Lock doors, preferably with large padlocks
-
Set the burglar alarms
-
Let neighbours know
-
Write down serial numbers to all electronics
