Personal Evangelism:

The lady was a complete stranger to me, but she started to talk to me on Commerce Street here in Kaitaia. And I am glad, that she did. It was on the day when the “Hugs not Thugs” March* was on. If she would not have told me about the March I would not have known about it. I had also my camera on me, so I did not have to rush home to get it.

When I started to talk to her about the things that were really on my heart, we found out that we do have the same Saviour Jesus Christ. She is going to one of the bigger churches here in Kaitaia.

The March started at KFC at 10.30am and ended at the Community Centre were the activities were held until 3.00pm.

It was good to get in contact with people there. There was also opportunity to talk to everybody over the mike… but I missed out on that.

THE SHEEPSKIN

Our lounge or sitting room is carpeted. Near the ranchslider windows are some flower pots and also a sheepskin is lying there on the floor on top of the carpet.

The sheepskin is there for a special reason, namely to cover up something. When we bought this place some time ago we discovered  a hole in the carpet. Something happened there what should not have happened.

But it is never a good idea to cover up something!

David in the Bible experienced that it was not a good idea to cover up his sin (iniquity, transgressons).

He had a terrible time, when he kept silent. He groaned all day long and his bones wasted away. Day and night the hand of the Lord was heavy upon him. It was summer time in his life because his strength was sapped.

But eventually he acknowledged his sin to the Lord. And he did not cover up his iniquity any longer. He confessed his transgressions to the Lord.

And what happened? The Lord forgave his sin. Praise the Lord!

AND YOU FORGAVE THE GUILT OF MY SIN.

Psalm 32:1-7

In four parts

Intr.:

PART ONE:

BLESSED IS HE…… BLESSED IS THE MAN..

1. whose transgressions are forgiven,

2. whose sins are covered.

3. whose sin the Lord does not count against him and in

4. whose spirit is no deceit.

PART TWO:

WHEN I KEPT SILENT,

1. my bones wasted away

–through my groaning all day long.

2. For day and night

–your hand was heavy upon me;

3. my strength was sapped

–as in the heat of summer.

PART THREE:

THEN… I SAID,….

1. I acknowledged my sin to you and

2. did not cover up my iniquity.

3. “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord” –

PART FOUR:

THEREFORE LET EVERYONE WHO IS GODLY PRAY TO YOU WHILE YOU MAY BE FOUND;

1. surely when the mighty waters rise,

–they will not reach him.

2. YOU ARE MY HIDING PLACE;

3. you will protect me from trouble and

4. surround me with songs of delivery.

End:
