HOPE!

HOPE!

What is your answer to the question: WHAT IS HOPE?

What is your answer to the question: WHAT IS YOUR HOPE?

I have been taught that HOPE IS DESIRE WITH EXPECTANCY.

What does the dictionary say? The dictionary says what I have been taught, only with more words. The dictionary says also that hope is “A PERSON OR THINGS THAT GIVES CAUSE FOR HOPE”.

WHAT GIVES CAUSE FOR HOPE?

GOD GIVES CAUSE FOR HOPE.

My hope is in God and I will never be put to shame. Read Psalm 25:3

THE WORD OF GOD GIVES CAUSE FOR HOPE.

I can say with the psalmist that I have put my hope in the Word of  God. Psalm 119:74

THE LOVE OF GOD GIVES CAUSE FOR HOPE.

In Psalm 147:11 we find a wonderful promise. The promise says that God delights in those who  put their hope in his unfailing love.

SALVATION GIVES CAUSE FOR HOPE.

In First Thesslonians we are told that  we belong to the day and that we should be putting on salvation as a helmet.

ETERNAL LIFE GIVES CAUSE FOR HOPE.

Our faith is resting on the hope of eternal life. Our knowledge is resting on the hope of eternal life. Please read Titus 1:1-3

That is another SERMON OUTLINE!

How must we be saved?

The grim  reaper is called “the conqueror of monarchs” and “destroyer of the human race” by Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

All of a sudden people we know and people we have talked to are no longer there, they are DEAD!

Yes, we are talking to people all the time. But what are we talking about as true followers of the Lord Jesus Christ?

ARE THERE PEOPLE WE HAVE NEVER TALKED TO ABOUT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST?

ARE THERE PEOPLE WE HAVE NEVER TALKED TO ABOUT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST SUFFICIENTLY?

What is the best way of presenting the gospel? I am a true follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and I have asked that question. Are you a true follower of the Lord? Have you ever asked that question?

So far I have found the best answer to the above question in one of the books by Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

His text is Mark 16:16 “WHOEVER BELIEVES AND IS BAPTIZED WILL BE SAVED.”

And he teaches me and us that “To believe  is  simply to trust, to depend, the rely upon JESUS CHRIST” and “To to be baptized is  to submit to the sacrament which the Lord fulfilled at the Jordan,…”

Let us remember that when we are talking to people!
