Sermon Outline – NT – CEV

THE CROSS

THE CROSS

“This is what I say

Luke 6:27-31

Intr.:

to all who will listen to me:

1.  Love your enemies, and

2.  be good to everyone who hates you.

3.  Ask God to bless anyone who curses you,

4.  and pray for everyone who is cruel to you.

"God's Word: open for all"

“God’s Word: open for all”

5.  If someone slaps you on one cheek, don’t stop that person from slapping you on the other cheek.

6.  If someone wants to take your coat, don’t try to keep back your shirt.

7.  Give to everyone who asks and don’t ask people to return what they have taken from you.

8.  Treat others just as you want to be treated.”

End:

“OFF 2 C”

When I saw today “OFF 2 C” written on a camper van, Ecclesiastes 1:8 came to my mind. There it says:

“All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing.”

MUST – READ BOOKS

When I read today “Must – see movies” on the front page of the NEW ZEALAND LISTENER (May 17-23, 2014) in our beautiful Kaitaia library, Must – read books  came to my mind.

Our beautiful Library in Kaitaia

Our beautiful Library in Kaitaia

There are many Must – read Books, even in my library.

Let me just mention five:

1.  LOS VOM ICH by Ernst Modersohn. “Wie Gott aus einem Jakob einen  Israel machte.”

That is a book I must read again! (German!)

2.  SPIRITUAL DEPRESSION by D. Martyn Lloyd – Jones. “Its causes and Cure.”

3.  SOMETHING MORE by Catherine Marshall.

4.  REVIVAL, can we make it happen? by D Martyn Lloyd – Jones.

5.  MORNING AND EVENING, Daily Readings, by Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

There are not only must – read books, there are also must – read again Books.

But the fact is that there is only ONE Must – Read Book and that is the BIBLE.

The Bible is also called THE BOOK OF BOOKS, the GOOD BOOK, The Word of God, the Scriptures and the Writings.

What makes me say that there is only one Must – Read Book? All other books are written be men, but the author of the Bible is the Holy Spirit.

Please read Second Peter 1:20,21.

The Future Again

AT THE BEACH

AT THE BEACH

The Future AGAIN

A columnist writes in our local paper (BOOKS AND BITES, The Northland Age, Tuesday, May 20, 2014) about young people.

First of all he says that there are young people who feel that they do not have a Future.

And secondly he says that because of that they are not prepared to work for it.

What are we going to do about them? How can we help them? Do we have a message for them?

Of course we have a message for them. The message for them is in the BIBLE.

The Bible tells us about THE FUTURE GLORY OF BELIEVERS. Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ have a glorious FUTURE. What does the Bible say about THE FUTURE GLORY OF BELIEVERS?

1. To be with the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:3).

2. To see his face (Psalm 17:15).

3. To see the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 17:24).

4. To be glorified with Christ (Romans 8:17,18).

5. To reign with the Lord Jesus Christ (Second Timothy 2:12).

6. To inherit all things ( Revelation 21:7)

7. To shine as the stars (Daniel 12:30)

We do not only have a message for young people who feel that they do not have a future.

We have a message for our  entire society, for everybody.

And that is the message in the BIBLE about THE FUTURE GLORY OF BELIEVERS in Jesus Christ.

I rejoice in THE FUTURE GLORY OF BELIEVERS.
