“YOUR COMMUNITY NEEDS YOU!”

“You can do something constructive to support your local police to reduce crime in this community,” I am told in the JUNE / JULY 2014 Age Concern Kaitaia + District newsletter.

How glad I am to hear that.

It is all about safer communities. It is all about creating safer communities. It is all about creating more caring communities.

The NEIGHBORHOOD SUPPORT NEW ZEALAND is working with police. So is COMMUNITY PATROLS OF NEW ZEALAND.

“Community patrollers are trained to know what to look out for and act as extra ‘eyes and ears’ for Police.”

Commerce Street KAITAIA – THE CENTRE OF THE COMMUNITY

Once more, I am glad that I can do something to help my community.

I am going to one of the CHURCHES here in Kaitaia and I am a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. In Matthew 4:19 the Lord Jesus Christ says,

“‘COME, FOLLOW ME,’ Jesus said, ‘AND I WILL MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN.'”

WAR CRY GIVEAWAY

To win a copy of RUTH AND BILLY GRAHAM, tell us why Jesus is good news for the world.

The answer is in the BIBLE:

“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.'” – Luke 2:10,11

NAMES

Let me ask you a question:

Do you belong to those people who love nothing more than to hear their names and to be given compliments?

I am learning that that is the case with most people.

But I don’t think I belong to those people.

There is nothing I love more than to hear the name of JESUS!

When I looked up the First Lines, Refrains & Titles in the book REDEMPTION HYMNS I found the hymns with the following titles:

1. “Jesus has loved me, wonderful Saviour”

Names

Names

2. “Jesus is all the world to me”

3. “Jesus is our shepherd”

4. “Jesus loved Even Me”

5. “Jesus saves”

6. “Jesus the sinner’s Friend”

7. “Jesus your blood and righteousness”

8. “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,

Sweetest name I know,

Fills my every longing,

Keeps me singing as I go.”

I am rather surprised when people call me by my name. It surprises me that they remember who I am. Some people must have a very good memory!

“IN THE EYES OF THE LORD”

AT THE BEACH

AT THE BEACH

In my QUIET TIME I am reading the BIBLE from cover to cover and this morning I read the exciting chapter fifteen in the book called Second Kings.

I find the stories of the kings so exciting because I am looking always forward to find out if the next king does right or evil in the eyes of the LORD.

1.  AZARIAH was king of Judah and “he did what was right”. Second Kings 15:3

Read on and find out what is said about the next king!

2.  ZECHARIAH was king of Israel and “he did evil”. Second Kings 15:9

How sad.

3.  MENAHEM was king of Israel and “he did evil”. Second Kings 15:8

How sad.

4.  PEKAHIAH was king of Israel and “he did evil”. Second Kings 15:24

How sad.

5.  PEKAH was king of Israel and “he did evil”. Second Kings 15:28

How sad.

6.  JOTHAM was king of Judah and “he did what was right”. Second Kings 15:34

I am glad.

What will be written or said about us after we are dead?

“He [she] did right in the eyes of the LORD” or “He [she] did evil in the eyes of the LORD?”
