HEALTH RESOLUTIONS

It is all very well to have health resolutions, but how are we going to fulfil them?

Do you think it is time to evaluate our health goals?

I don’t know what comes to your mind, when you hear about health.

Most of us are thinking straight away about PHYSICAL health, but my focus is on SPIRITUAL health.

What is top on your list when it comes to PHYSICAL health? For many it is weight management. For many it is quitting smoking.

Smoking

“Quit Smoking Programme”

As mentioned already, my focus is on SPIRITUAL health. Top on my list is my relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, having my daily Quiet Time, and my goal is to read the Bible in one year from cover to cover. This year 2015 I started with the New Testament.

RESOLUTIONS are challenging. We need help to reach our goals. Do you know where to go for help and support?

When it comes to physical health the pharmacist is able to give personalised support.

But when it comes to spiritual support we must go for help to the Living God.

THE BOOK THAT CHANGED MY LIFE

“Includes fiction, biographies, histories, children’s & stunning classics,” says the “Christmas books guide” in the Australian Women’s Weekly December 2014 New Zealand Edition.

The Open BIBLE

The Open BIBLE

We find the Christmas Story in the Bible, but the Bible is not included in the “Christmas books gift guide”. I can find only one religious book included and that is the book with the title Fields of Blood, Religion and History of Violence by Karen Armstrong.

At the end of the guide I read about a Giveaway. In order to win one of the Giveaway books I must tell the book that changed my life and why. No need to tell you that the Email is given, I am also told what to put in the subject line and the expiry date was 21 December 2014.

The book that is changing my life is the Bible, and if you want to know why please read more posts on this blog.

“Don’t let time run out”

An advertisement in the publication called “Coffee News” reminds me not to let time run out to advertise , because space to advertise in the paper is limited and in demand for spring and summer.

It is easy to run out of time.

The Bible tells us in Hosea 10:12 that “it is time to seek the LORD.” The Scripture tells us also about a time of favor and a day of salvation.

Let us listen to what we read in Isaiah 49:8:

“IN THE TIME OF MY FAVOR I WILL ANSWER YOU AND IN THE DAY OF SALVATION I WILL HELP YOU.”

The Bible says also that “there is a time for everything, …” You find those words in Ecclesiastes 3, at the beginning of the chapter. Yes, “there is … a time to be born and a time to die …”

Has someone ever asked you, “Can you tell me the time, please?”

The Apostle Paul writes to the church in Corinth, “I tell you NOW is the time of God’s favor, NOW is the day of salvation.” (Second Corinthians 6:2)

Don’t let time run out!

Remember, that “there is … a time to die!”
