“WARNING!”

At the Beach

At the Beach

“WARNING!

MOUTH OPERATES

FASTER THAN

BRAIN”

That is a serious warning for me.

I am not quite sure now if I have seen someone wearing a shirt with that warning, but I am looking now at a picture where someone is wearing a shirt with those words.

Why do I pay attention?

Because the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 5:2:

“Do not be quick with your mouth, …”

And in Proverbs 13:3 we are told:

“He who guards his lips guards his soul, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.” To speak rashly means of course to speak without due thought.

I hope this is also a serious warning for you.

Proverbs 10:19 says that wise people hold their tongues.

If we don’t want to come to ruin we hold our tongues.

THE CROSS

THE CROSS

“‘Teacher,

Luke 20:21,22

Intr.:

we know

1.  that you

a.  speak and

b.  teach what is right and

2.  that you do not show partiality but

3.  teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.

End:

Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?'”

“GOD HAS SAID.” – Hebrews 13:5

Although I don't know the name of the flower I like it

Although I don’t know the name of the flower I like it

God has confirmed his promises with an oath. You find that in Hebrews 6:13-18.  “He swore by himself.”

Promise number one:

“Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.” – Hebrews 13:5 (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Promise number two:

“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love.” – Jeremiah 31:3

God’s promises are alive. But they are only alive for those who have grasped them by faith.

CHILDREN’S DAY – 1 March

I am learning that Children’s Day is an annual celebration, that the message is to “treasure our children,” and that the aim is to spend time with the children.

How do we highly prize our children? How do we highly value our children? How do we regard our children as precious?

How do we “treasure our children”?

If we really want to know, we must turn to the Bible.

"Treasure our Children"

“Treasure our Children”

The “Book of Books” has the following message for us:

We must fix the commands of the LORD in our hearts and our minds.

What are the commands of the LORD? Three things:

1. We must love the Lord Jesus Christ.

2. We must walk in  all the ways of the Lord Jesus Christ.

3. We must hold fast to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are also told to tie the commands of the LORD as symbols on our hands and to bind them on our foreheads.

We must also teach our CHILDREN to love the Lord, to walk in all his ways and to hold fast to him.

The Bible tells us also to talk about the commands all the time,….. in our homes, on the street, when we are lying down and when we are getting up.

In Deuteronomy 11:20 we are also told to to

“Write them on the door frames of our houses and on our gates.”

But how can we teach the commands of the Lord to our children, when we ourselves do not  have the commands of the Lord  fixed in our hearts and minds?

Do you have the commands of the Lord fixed in your heart and mind?

“Wear your Heart on your Sleeve.”

I am encouraged to show my feelings openly.

It is HEART WEEK and the Heart Foundation has a little box at our Post Office, where all those who have donated money can take a little heart out of the box and pin it to their sleeves.

On the box it does not only say “Donate now,” but it says also that “Heart Disease can be stopped”.

HEART

HEART

I have learned that it is not always good to wear my heart on my  sleeve, to show my feelings openly, especially when I feel angry or annoyed.

The Bible says in Proverbs 29:11

“A fool gives full vent to his anger, …” And in Proverbs 12:16 we read,

“A fool shows his annoyance at once, …”

Please find a Bible and read the two verses!

Luke 20:45-47

5.  They devour widow’s houses and

6.  for a show make lengthy prayers.

Such men will be punished most severely.”
