“We always glance sideways towards our own honor, have too high an estimation of our own powers, and aren’t qualified therefore to behold the glory of the Lord.” – C. H. Spurgeon

“FULL OF ENERGY”
“Full of energy,” was written in big letters on the fuel tanker I saw some days ago in our town.
“Vita-Brits give you energy for the day ahead,” I am reading on the Vita-Brits box. I am glad that I ate four of them this morning.
The Bible teaches us that we don’t live on bread (Vita-Brits) alone. Let us read what it says in Deuteronomy 8:3:
“He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.”
Read also what our Lord Jesus Christ says in Matthew 4:4 in the New Testament.
That’s why I read my Bible this morning after breakfast. I read Genesis chapter 23, where it talks about the death of Sarah. I hope I remember that she died when she was 127 year old and that she died in Hebron.
The Word of God teaches also that man has three parts, namely body, soul and spirit. Here ate two verses to prove that: First Thessalonians 5:23 and Hebrews 4:12. In Hebrews 4:12 we are taught that “The Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul an spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
If we remember not only to take care of our body at the beginning of each new day, but also of our soul and spirit, we surely will be full of energy for the day ahead.

EXHORTATION
We need to be exhorted to remember.
That came to me again today when I was given reminders to quit smoking.
“smokefree” is written in a toothbrush, “smokefree.org.nz” is not only written in English on a pen, but also in Maori, “Quit now it’s about whanau (family) I read on a stress ball and on a balloon and keyring it says:
“smokefree
Aotearoa
New Zealand
2025
smokefree.org.nz”
We need to be exhorted to remember the commandments in the Bible delivered to Moses.
When reading the quit smoking reminders on the toothbrush, the pen, the stress ball, the balloon, and the keyring, Deuteronomy 6:6-8 came to my mind, where it says,
“Tie them as symbols on your hand and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”
I think I remember correctly that Matthew 11:28 was written above the entrance door of a church hall in Germany I attended. That was long ago in Bottrop in the Ruhr District.
You find Bible verses written on walls in church buildings, even here in Kaitaia.
Some time ago there was here in Kaitaia a coffee shop. On one wall of the coffee shop was written a verse from the Bible. I really liked to go to that shop for a cup of coffee. But the restaurant is no longer in operation.
This morning I went to the different rooms in our house and was surprised to find a good number of framed verses from the Word of God hanging on the walls. Here is the one I really like. It is Deuteronomy 29:29 (easy to remember), where it says:
“THE SECRET THINGS BELONG TO THE LORD OUR GOD, BUT THE THINGS REVEALED BELONG TO US AND OUR CHILDREN FOREVER, THAT WE MAY FOLLOW ALL THE WORDS OF THIS LAW.”
I do not need to be reminded to quit smoking, because I don’t smoke and have never been smoking, but I need to be exhorted to remember what it says in the Bible, the Word of God.
SEEN TWICE TODAY
The first time not far from our place:
“Let’s get together with Nature!” and “Nature is our closest friend,” it says on the cover of the spare tyre that is fastened to the back of the car. I am glad that I read it.
I say, “Let’s get together with the Lord Jesus Christ who created Nature. The Lord Jesus Christ is my closest friend.”
In John 15:14 the Lord Jesus Christ says, “YOU ARE MY FRIENDS IF YOU DO WHAT I COMMAND.” Here is one of the commands of the Lord Jesus Christ:
“GO INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOOD NEWS TO ALL CREATION.”
Seen today the second time in town, and I don’t think it was the same car.

“Join the Conversation”
“The most wasted of all days is one without laughter,” is a quote by E. E. Cummings, and I find the quote in the July 2015 Reader’s digest under the heading “Join the conversation”. E. E. Cummings is a poet.
Four great reasons are given, why we should join the conversation online.
One is called “We help you get motivated”.
“#QuotableQuotes and
#Pointstoponder to get you through the day”
Speaking for myself, I have the promises of the Lord to get me through the day. And here are some of the promises:
1. First Corinthians 3:11 “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is JESUS CHRIST.”
2. Second Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
3. Colossians 1:17 “He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
4. James 4:2 “You do not have, because you do no ask God.’
I think I am laughing quite a bit most of my days, but the most wasted of all days for me is a day without reading the BIBLE, the Word of God, and praying.
At the present time I am reading the book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible. Genesis is the book of the beginning and it has 50 chapters.
