CHANGING DIRECTION!

wernerweb-150x150“Do you want to change your direction in life?”

What a good question! I like to answer questions like that. But if you ask me that question right now, my answer is: “NO!”

(I find the above question on an advertisement of the Kaitaia Advance Training Centre.)

But the fact is that all of us must change direction in life.

Why?

Because from the time we are born, we are going into the wrong direction. We are on our way to hell.

In order to go into the right direction we must make a U-turn. When we are doing that, we are on our way to heaven.

We must turn from Sin to God. We must turn from Sin to God and serve Him. That is called repentance. What does repentance consist of?

The New Bible Dictionary (Inter Varsity Fellowship) teaches me that repentance consists of the following radical transformation:

1. thought,

2. attitude,

3. outlook,

4. direction.

The reason why my answer to the question “Do you want to change your direction in life?” is No is this:

I changed the direction in  my life more than 50 years ago and served the Lord from that time.

NATURE

NATURE

We are really good at exchanging the truth for a lie.

I realized that this morning, when I picked up a book in my library and started reading it.

The author of the book is very much concerned that we keep Nature healthy. She has these five things to say about Nature:

1. Nature heals.

The LORD is my healer! (Exodus 15:26)

2. Nature consoles.

The consolation of the Lord brings joy to my soul. (Psalm 94:19)

3. Nature gives strength.

The Lord is my strength. (Psalm 18:1)

4. Nature gives joy to live.

The Lord brings joy to my life. (Psalm 94:19)

5. Nature is home for the soul.

God is home (rest) for my soul. (Matthew 11:28,29 and Psalm 62:5)

By now you probably know that I  don’t worship and serve created things, but the Creator.

Romans 1:25 says this:

“They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator – who is forever praised. Amen.”

"Meine Kanzel ist die Welt"

“Meine Kanzel ist die Welt”

“Meine Kanzel ist die Welt” (“My Pulpit is the World”).

It is not surprising that more than 100.000 copies of the book have been sold. I have read the ten stories (in German) twice and I will probably read them again.

One of the best books I have ever read!
