“Thank God every morning when you get up that you have something to do which must be done, whether you like it or not.” – Charles Kingsley

The first thing I did this morning, was to turn the tap on – but there was no water!
And there would not be any water for quite some time, we were told. Friends who have water are very helpful in situations like that!
LET US PRAY FOR SPIRITUAL THIRST IN OUR LAND!
ARE YOU THIRSTY?
In Isaiah 55:1 we read, “‘Come, all you who are thirsty, …'”
In John 7:37 the Lord Jesus Christ says, “‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.'”
In John 4:14 the Lord Jesus Christ says, “‘…, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.”
In Revelation 7:16 we read, “…; never again will they thirst.”

Job 23:12
“I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.”
One of the Best and Shortest Sermons! Can YOU say that when you die?
When did you hear last about hell in church?
“Haehae continued to press in until he obtained an ‘inward assurance of the Divine favour’ and was baptised. That evening, just before his last breath, he called together his friends and family:
LISTEN TO ME, FOR I AM NOW DYING: PERHAPS YOU WILL REMEMBER WHAT I SAY WHEN I AM GONE. YOU ARE ALL IN DARKNESS AND ON THE WAY TO HELL. THIS COUNTRY IS FULL OF MISERY; WHO WOULD LIVE IN IT ALWAYS? YOU SEE I HAVE NO FEAR. I AM GOING TO JESUS. WILL YOU MEET ME IN HEAVEN? I AM GOING: FAREWELL!”

The Word of God
With great interest I’m reading the book “BIBLE & TREATY” by Keith Newman. On page 93 it says:
“Our hearts are sick for the word of God: We desire it more than axes, hatchets or blankets. – A Maori convert at the Hokianga Wesleyan mission station on receiving a Maori New Testament, 1833”
“Do you belong…”
“DO YOU BELONG TO THE LOWER CLASSES WHICH LIVE ONLY TO BE WAITED ON, OR ARE YOU ONE OF THAT GLORIOUS ARISTOCRACY WHICH ONLY LIVES TO SERVE?”

What a Lesson for us:
“There is in Austria a monastery which in former times was very rich, and continued rich so long as it gave freely to the poor; but when it gave over that it became poor itself, and so remains to this day.” – Martin Luther
Proverbs 22:9
“A generous man will himself be blessed….”
