I’m reading just now about a late-night talk show.
It was high rating, until……until it was decided to talk about dying.
Why is ‘death’ a taboo topic?

“Remember, a small trouble is like a pebble.
Hold it too close to your eye, and it puts everything out of focus.
Hold it at a proper viewing distance, and it can be examined and classified.
Throw it at your feet, and see it in its true setting – just one more tiny bump on the pathway.” – Barbara Johnson
I read about the “Passion at Oberammergau” in Germany in the paper not too many days ago.
But today a Kiwi couple told me, “We are just back from Oberammergau.”
Peter Atkins is writing in his article “Power and passion lift the spirit” in “travel” (August 24, 2010) how a village kept a promise made 367 years ago:
“The villagers of Oberammergau made a vow to God in 1643 to perform a play about the passion of Christ every ten years if they were spared the ravages of death through the plague. Their tiny village escaped and they have kept the promise ever since.”
“The transformation of an individual leads to a transformation of relationships, of families, of communities, of nations. We long for and anticipate with joy the new creation of all things in Christ. Our mission is God’s mission.” – Robert Street ( Called to be God’s people)
The family prayed together before they had their lunch………………in the restaurant.
I have never met them before , but when I talked to them I found out, that we were fellow pilgrims on our way to our heavenly home. Praise the Lord! We had a long talk about spiritual things.
