Would you rather like to know the date, or would you rather like to know about the event that is taking place?

A shop here in town is giving me the date, but is not telling me what is going to happen on that day.

The Bible tells me about an event, but is not giving me the date.

THE SECOND COMING OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS THE EVENT.

“SAVE THE DATE”

The second coming of Christ is prophesied in the Bible.

It was foretold by …

— the prophets. (Daniel 7:13)

— Jesus himself. (Matthew 25:31)

— Paul.  (First Timothy 6:14)

— Angels. (Acts 1:10,11)

But the time of Christ’s Second Coming is unknown.

Please read Matthew 24:46.

But the Second Coming of Christ is spoken of as Near at Hand.

James 5:8 teaches us that “the Lord’s Coming is near.” In Revelation 22:20 it says, “‘Yes, I am coming soon.'”

We must have the TRUE Attitude concerning Christ’s Second Coming.

Matthew 24:4 tells us to be ready.

First Corinthians 1:7 admonishes us to wait in patience.

Thinking about the Second Coming helps us to live a blameless life. First Thessalonians 5:23.

And not only that, it helps us also to be perfectly obedient. First Timothy 6:14.

I would rather like to know about the Event that is taking place than to know the Date!

THE WORD OF THE LORD.

Mankind can be divided into two groups.

There is first of all the group which fears the word of the LORD.

The second group consists of those who ignore the word of the LORD.

In the first book of the Bible, (Genesis) we read about the officials of Pharao. The task of Pharao’s officials was to look after Pharao’s slaves and livestock.

What did the officials do who feared the word of the LORD?

They brought everything inside. Cattle, horses and similar animals.

What did the officials do who ignored the word of the LORD?

They left the horses, cattle and other animals on the field.

I belong to those who fear the word of the LORD.

You know  also to which group you belong!
